New Ridiculous Pug Skullz Video (*photos, too!) Surfaces! How Embarrassing!!

Back in February the Pug Skullz played at the Where House? in Sacramento, here’s a small chunk of video footage (photos, too!) proving that fact (followed by a disturbing message from our good friend Matt who runs the Where House? and the Colony):

And now that message from Matt:

Hello everyone, its been a while since I made a post here and I just need to be straight with everyone and let you know what’s going on. On march 16 I got a visit by sac pd entertainment department during a show. Due to certain circumstances the show was not shut down, but they were not happy with that. In the weeks that followed I got several visit from fire marshals, and zoning agents. After that was done the where house was left with a capacity of 49 people. Because of that many of the shows were moved to different locations, and I was left with the decision of keeping it or letting it go. So I have decided to let it go. At the end of may I will be closing the where house. My goal is to find a new location that can meet what the county wants and still allow me to do it the way that I want to. This was not an easy decision to make and it makes me sad to think about it. I would like to thank Edward Young and Rachel Hanna from rise entertainment, without them I don’t think the where house would have gotten to where it is today, I miss you guys. Also the other members of The Barfly Effect who supported us all the way, thank you kasey, Julie, and Brian I miss you guys just as much. I really want to thanks a lot more such as Nathan donnell, Danny secretion, mickie ratt, Benjamin Abel, vic salazar, and of course Sunny D for all of the help and support over the last few months. So as of right now there is one show on may 18 that everyone should come to, and I do not have a date yet but at the end of may I will be doing one last show that will be free. To say goodbye. Thank you everyone that has supported, all the bands that have played, and all of the people that came out to a show, without you guys none of this would be possible.

Pug Skullz would like to encourage everyone to get out to all the shows at the Colony and these last remaining shows at the Where House? Especially the final show, just announced last night. The event is called ‘The End,’ the link goes to the Facebook event page. It’s very important to support the local scene, especially those who lay their hard earned money on the line to establish venues for shows. It might not hurt to let city officials know they’re hurting the local economy every time they push against the artists.

Stay tuned for information on an upcoming Pug Skullz show…

March 24th again...well happy birthday to Jake!!

March 24th again…Happy birthday, Jake!!

Hey Everyone…loads of stuff’s been happening and I haven’t been keeping you up to date on this blog. The Facebook page is more active, so ‘like’ it, if you play that game.

We played Far West Punk Fest at the Where House on February 24th, my birthday…two days before Jarade’s, and had a great time. Matthew Marrujo, of the Where House and Colony, enjoyed our set and has invited us to play a benefit show for the Colony, which is one of our few remaining all-ages venues! Here’s that flyer:

Aberzombies, Slutzville, & Magi-Kool Doods

I guess I kinda blew the surprise, but today is Jake’s birthday…a nice comment would certainly be appreciated.

Oh…and we opened up for Bad Daddies in Stockton! Was a really great time with a handful of fun bands! Picked up the Bad Daddies 7″ on black vinyl…and another copy on limited yellow vinyl! Great sounds…go catch them when they blast through your city as they head out on their Bad Year tour of California.

De-Bauch-A-Reno is happening as I write this…we played through the Sonics set, but Jarade had the tenacity to drive over to Reno for the Slovenly Records/ Sticker Guy hosted event. Our good friend Olaf Jens, aka The Vinyl Avenger, was spinning wax with our long-time hero Jello Biafra!!…and Jarade met him long enough to have this dark, pixelated photo taken:

Jello and Jarade at De-Bauch-A-Reno 2013

So…as you can see, we’re having a blast…we’re writing new songs…I’m still figuring out how to record and mix, but I think I’m improving. Stay on the look out for some new demo releases soon. See you at the Colony March 29th!! ~ Doug

Bad Daddies record release party!!

I know it seems like a ways off, but it’s important to let people know about events before they happen! Our friends, Bad Daddies, asked us to help them kick off their tour at their record release party.

Check out their new song, Regress:

Great stuff, eh? So, keep an eye out for our posts…more music should be coming out soon!! ~ Doug

So, it’s been a couple of weeks since we played that ‘End of the World’ show…a little disappointed we’re still here, but it’s ok, we might get the chance to play another show before the world actually ends! We practiced tonight, which is good…because look:

;P ~ Doug
